Q: WHAT IS Staron® QUARTZ SURFACE?
A: Staron® quartz surface is composed of about 93% quartz, one of the hardest minerals found in nature. The result is a highly durable material, which is resilient to scratches and heat. The beauty and functionality of the product is unmatched by any other natural or synthetic materials.
Q: HOW DURABLE IS THE Staron® QUARTZ SURFACE? CAN I USE A KNIFE TO
CUT DIRECTLY ON IT?
A: No, due to its natural quartz content, Staron Quartz is highly scratch resistant, but not scratch-proof. Thus, you should always use a cutting board and not cut directly on the surface.
Q: IS Staron® QUARTZ HEAT, SCRATCH AND STAIN RESISTANT?
A: Staron® quartz is highly resistant to heat, scratch and stain. Like most products, extreme or excessive exposure can damage the surface.
Trivet or hot pad should be used to protect the surface from heated cookware (i.e. hot skillets or pans).
Q: IS IT SAFE TO PREPARE FOOD ON THE Staron® QUARTZ SURFACES?
A: Staron® quartz surfaces are nonporous and can be used for kitchen countertops. When the countertop is properly maintained, the surface remains bacteria-free for cooking and preparing food. Please refer to the Staron® Quartz Care & Maintenance Guide for more information.
Q: WHAT DOES "VIRTUALLY MAINTENANCE FREE" MEAN?
A: Non-porous characteristic allow Staron® quartz surfaces to be categorized as "virtually maintenance free."
This means that it does not need to be sealed, and that cleaning the surface with soap and water on a regular basis and following Staron Quartz Care & Maintenance Guide will be sufficient to maintain its beauty and shine. To preserve the quality of the quartz surface, please refer to the Staron® Quartz Care and Maintenance Guide for routine care guidelines.
Q: DO I NEED TO SEAL THE COUNTERTOP REGULARLY?
A: Staron® quartz surfaces do not need to be sealed.
Q: WHAT IS THE 10-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY?
A: During the first ten years after the date of initial installation, Samsung, at its option, will repair or replace without charge, any products that have failed due to any manufacturing defect. Please refer to the Staron® Quartz Surface 10-year Limited Warranty for specific policies. Outdoor applications of Staron® quartz are not covered under the warranty.
Q: HOW DOES Staron® QUARTZ COMPARE TO OTHER NATURAL STONES SUCH
AS GRANITE?
A: Staron® quartz offer more color consistency than granite, making it homogeneous throughout the whole countertop.
While most granites need to be sealed and waxed regularly, the nonporous surface of Staron® quartz makes the product virtually maintenance-free and highly stain resistant. Please refer to the Staron Quartz Care & Maintenance Guide.
